Changsha Requires 14-Day Quarantine

On January 24, the Changsha COVID-19 Prevention and Control Command Center released regulations to strengthen epidemic prevention and control in winter and spring. The regulations become effective January 25.

Persons in the medium- and high-risk regions outside Hunan are not allowed to come to Changsha until their regions become low-risk. Those who must travel must bring their negative results of COVID-19 nucleic acid test within 7 days, and report to local community or village committees? two days ahead of their arrival in Changsha. Upon arriving via public transport, passengers must report their travel record truthfully to the epidemic prevention and control officers at the airports, railway stations, and long-distance bus stations.

People coming from high-risk regions, or who were present in such regions for more than 4 hours, must undergo a 14-day centralized medical quarantine and obtain two nucleic acid tests after arriving in Changsha. People coming from medium-risk, or who were present in such regions for more than 4 hours, must isolate themselves at home for 14 days after arrival. Home isolation means “one person only isolated in one household”. Those unable to fulfill this requirement must undergo centralized quarantine.

Changsha residents are persuaded to stay in Changsha over the Spring Festival holiday and avoid unnecessary gatherings. People coming from low-risk regions outside Hunan or in high-risk groups in Hunan, should carry their negative results of nucleic acid tests within 7 days, and report to local community or village committees 2 days ahead of their arrival in Changsha. A 14-day health monitoring at home is required after arrival. During this, they should avoid gatherings, stay at home as much as possible, and have a nucleic acid test every 7 days.

Inbound passengers must undergo a 14-day quarantine at their disembarkation city. They must report to local community or village committees about their travel plans and quarantine information two days ahead of arriving in Changsha. Upon arrival, they must undergo a 21-day (from the dates of disembarkation) centralized or home quarantine. They should have two nucleic acid tests during the quarantine period.
