On April 9, Huadian Energy said that net assets are expected to be negative by the end of 2021. According to delisting regulations in Shanghai, the stock may be at risk of delisting when its 2021 report is released.

Huadian has made a loss since 2017, estimated at 3 billion yuan (US$470 million) last year.

Founded in 1993 and listed in 1996, Huadian Energy is a state-owned power company controlled by China Huadian.
