On 12 December, the ABU ROBOCON 2021, co-organised by Shandong Radio and Television Station and the People's Government of Jimo District, Qingdao, opened in Jimo District, Qingdao. Twenty-one teams from 11 countries and regions, including China, Japan, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Mongolia and Cambodia, competed through the online tournament.

After two rounds of fierce competition in the morning and afternoon, the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November won the championship, the Mongolian University of Science and Technology team won the second place, and the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia B team won the third place.
