mirror —— 镜子

This mirror makes my figure look plump.

这个镜子让我的身材看起来很丰满。

plump——（人的身材）饱满的，丰满的

大家要注意了：很多同学都会把“照镜子”直接说成：look at the mirror （X）

look at the mirror——表示的是“看这个镜子本身”，（并不能表达出我们在照镜子的时候，镜子里面会出现我们的影像）这样的意思。

I'm looking at the mirror.

我正在看这个镜子。

照镜子的正确说法应该是：

look at oneself in the mirror

这个短语字面的意思就是说:我们看镜子里面的自己，其实就是“照镜子”的意思。

I'm looking at myself in the mirror.

我正在照镜子。

Hey…You have spent at least two hours looking at yourself in the mirror.

嘿，你照镜子至少已经花了两个小时了。

“照镜子”还可以说成：

look in the mirror / look into the mirror

Come and look in the mirror.

来照照镜子吧。

Let me go and look into the mirror again.

让我再去照照镜子。
