CNOOC's New gas field goes into operation in Boh

The China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC, 00883.HK), the listed unit of the largest producer of offshore crude oil and natural gas in China, said on 22 October that the new gas field Bozhong 19-6 has commenced production.

Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field pilot-area development project is located in the central Bohai Sea. The project is expected to reach its peak production of 1 million cubic meters of natural gas and 5,720 barrels of condensate oil per day by the end of 2020.

XIE?Weizhi, the Chief Financial Officer of CNOOC said at the media conference held on the same day that after the production results of the Bozhong 19-6 pilot-area comes out, further specific development plans will be implemented and the project will be then officially launched.

"Commencement of production in Bozhong 19-6 condensate gas field pilot-area development project has laid a solid foundation for the overall development later on and will provide low-carbon and safe energy for Bohai Rim Region," WANG?Dongjin, the Chairman of the company said.

Bohai oilfield is the largest offshore oil field and the second-largest crude oil production base in China.
